Founded
in 1969 in Fairfax County, Virginia, the Partnership specializes
in providing careful and sensitive design attention to each
of our commissions. Over the years, we have been asked to design
a variety of projects, including custom residences, corporate
headquarters, banks, libraries, historic restorations, animal
care facilities, retail centers and offices.
|
| |
| Purposely,
our office has remained approximately the same size for
over 15 years. The office staff consists of principal emeritus Robert Wilson
Mobley, AIA, principal Matt Arnold, AIA, two intern architects, and one administrative
person. We are selective in our commissions, allowing
our office to balance the number and the size of our projects. |
 |
|
| |
The
Partnership has executed projects as large as eighty thousand
square feet and many as small as one or two thousand square
feet.
Typically, the first two phases of our projects - Programming
and Design - are directed by Robert Wilson Mobley. The Construction
Document phase is administered by Matthew Arnold.
All partners review and consult with one another during all
phases of any project. Site visits during the Construction Phase
are handled by one of the partners, generally the one who directed
the Construction Documents.
All projects have parameters that are considered as part of
the problem to be solved, e.g., finite budgets, historical references,
complex zoning restrictions, |

unusual site conditions or architectural
review boards. Solving these problems requires teamwork.
The most successful solutions are almost always the result
of clients, architects, interior designers, consultants
and contractors exercising sensitivity, creativity and
skill as they work together in concert. |
|
| |
It is our role to help provide a comfortable
environment that encourages this to happen.
Our
design philosophy is simple. We believe the beauty of architecture
is organically derived from the natural evolution of the solution.
Both the form and the function of every project are constantly
and carefully balanced in order to create responsive and beautiful
architecture that meets our clients goals, enhances their
lives and is sensitive to the environment. Our work has been
honored with Design Awards since the founding of our office. |
