Concessions Pavillion

This ADA pavilion is located in Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, in a small wooded area between the Filene Center and a new ADA parking lot. It is designed to float above the ground on piers, minimizing site intrusion. The pavilions's diagonal orientation maximizes tree preservation and minimizes light spill-over into the audience while providing a welcoming and accessible entrance to the auditorium. Its cedar roof and walls and a copper-clad ventilation cupola are materially similar to the Filene Center. This design won an Exceptional Design Award from Fairfax County.
