in the High Desert
Built
for clients that entertain frequent overnight quests, this
house was designed to serve as a mini-retreat center. Careful
location of a separate Guest House created two courtyards:
an garden entrance courtyard and a private pool courtyard
overlooking Santa Fe. Deep overhangs create generous shaded
porches and provide cool shelter from the searing sun. The
residence was designed to reflect the materials and architecture
indigenous to the region, blending beautifully into the surrounding
Turquoise Hills while taking advantage of the dramatic views
offered by the site.
