An Evolutionary House

The evolutionary house was designed to expand in preconceived stages to meet the needs of a growing family. Stage One is a two-bedroom A-frame, designed for a couple just starting out. Stage Two adds a two-story family room. The third and final stage adds a master bedroom and bath, and a garage. The small house is designed with a series of two-story spaces, cathedral ceilings, flying bridges and an open floor plan. It is an energy efficient design. The house received awards from both the Northern Virginia AIA and Exceptional Design Awards Program of Fairfax County.
