Beach
houses along the coast in the middle Atlantic region are often
located on very narrow lots. Consequently houses with large
space requirements are required to build vertically. The client
for this ocean front house asked
that the three story west-facing entrance side feel inviting
and
transparent, sharing a view of the dramatic entrance stair
and third floor vaulted ceiling. The house features views
of the
ocean or western bays from almost every habitable room.
